Exile Son
02:30
|
|||
I dropped out of college
Bet you wouldn't like that
I dropped out of living
Bet you wouldn't believe that
Say what I want
Something you wouldn't think of
For so long i wanted to be
On my own
I'm your Exile Son
Only twenty one
Exile Son
And I do not need anyone
Oh no
So many times
I wanted to leave
I wanted to know
What it was like
To be free
So many times
I wanted to touch
But for you my living
It was always too much
I'm your Exile Son
Only twenty one
Exile Son
And I do not need anyone
Never

Reach For The Sun
05:29
|
|||
A gentle man came to us
He was a kind soul
He came to us carrying
Some ornaments of gold
We sat fascinated by those
Stories that he told
A gentle man came to us
He was a kind soul
Before I am done
Reach for the sun
He said one day we would not
Have to breathe the air
We'd leave the Earth
without having any care
He sits in his bunker
He has many guns in there
He said that one day we would not
Have to breathe the air
Before I am done
Reach for the sun
He'll try so hard to touch that gate
He hopes that it's not too late
For each and all unavoidable fateHe'll try so hard
He'll try so hard to touch that gate

Her Fix
04:03
|
|||
Tell me do you think that she needs a ride
Do you think that she is going to go get high
A walk in nirvana on a summer day
she is going to get her fix today
Don't know about you
But I know abut me
Sure wouldn't want to be like that
She's got no place that she can call home
She's got nobody to telephone
Her dress all ripped up and sown
Her face looks old an weary and worn
Don't know about you
But I know abut me
Sure wouldn't want to be like that
She walked right out of the hospital door
Like she has so many times before
She asked us if two days is enough
The pretty girl thinks that she's pretty tough
Don't know about you
But I know abut me
Sure wouldn't want to be like that

Churchgoers
05:58
|
|||
It's a wonder girl
You have a smile on your face
Oh here in this dark place
It's a wonder girl
you don't ignore what they say
It doesn't matter anyway
It's a wonder girl
You used to be, born again
I'll tell you right now it won't matter to you when you get down to the end
I despise all you Churchgoers
Because you think understand
I despise all you Churchgoers
You think you got it in your hand
We're going to burn your Sunday bonnet
And everything you put upon it
We're going to burn your Easter bonnet
And everything you wrote upon it
You're in the sun girl
And you're holding my hand
I understand
You're in the sun girl
And there is no reason to return
There is nothing left for you to learn back there
I despise all you Churchgoers
Because you think understand
I despise all you Churchgoers
You think you got it in your hand
We're going to burn your Sunday bonnet
And everything you put upon it
We're going to burn your Easter bonnet
And everything you wrote upon it
It's a wonder girl
you have a smile on your face
Oh there in that dark, dark, dark, dark, dark, dark place
I despise all you Churchgoers
Because you think understand
I despise all you Churchgoers
You think you got it in your hand
We're going to burn your Sunday bonnet
And everything you put upon it
We're going to burn your Easter bonnet
And everything you wrote upon it

So Frozen
03:02
|
|||
I woke up the snow was all around me
I woke up the snow was all around me
Must think your dad was a snowman
Must think your dad was a snowman
Your touch it felt like ice dear
Your touch it felt like ice dear
Why don't you turn up the heat dear
Why don't you turn up the heat dear
You're so frozen
So frozen
My sweet Suzanne
So frozen
Must think I'm made out of ice cream
Must think I'm made out of ice cream
I guess that is why they call you the Ice Queen
I guess that is why they call you the Ice Queen
You're so frozen
So frozen
My sweet Suzanne
So frozen
I woke up the snow was all around me
I woke up the snow was all around me
Guess I'll stick my hand in the freezer
Must have stuck my hand in the freezer
Your touch it was so cold dear
Your touch it felt like ice dear
Now I know why they call you the Ice Queen
Yeah I know why they call you the Ice Queen
You're so frozen
So frozen
My sweet Suzanne
So frozen

Katie Came Softly
04:36
|
|||
Katie came softly
like a silhouette
In the parking lot
I don't know her yet
But then she's good to me
I think she understands
Then she touches me
With her cold, white hands
Oh, I don't know
Oh, she's a ghost
And then every night
Know she may appear
With her long white nails
And long silver hair
She's always good to me
I think she understands
And then she touches me
With her cold, white hands
Oh, I don't know
Oh, she's a ghost
No more flowers, in her bed. No more, she isn't there
Little wisps of smoke come into my room thorough the cracks in the ceilings, the floor, and my front door
Katie came softly
like a silhouette
In the parking lot
I don't know her yet
But she was good to me
I think she understands
Then she touches me
With her cold, white hands
Oh, I don't know
Oh, she's a ghost
The ghost is gone. Never to return. Still sometimes I pray. That she will return

You should have tossed the dice
Looking back in hindsight
You should have touched the knife
While you had it in your sights
You didn't know what to do
You turned a darker shade of blue
Didn't have anything to do
'Cause you vision, it never grew
Everybody has a heart sometime
Everybody has a heart that bleeds
Everybody has a time of grace
You didn't know what to do
You should have just stayed in school
Then you would have known what to do
Instead of drinking and playing pool
Everybody has a heart sometime
Everybody has a heart that bleeds
Everybody has a time of grace

Your Voodoo Smile
03:43
|
|||
I warn you don't cross that line, I warn you don't cross that line. You sent a black cat to me, you put a silent hex upon me. You've got a cold magic I see, you've got a secret will to kill me. Tell me where did you keep that dolly? tell me are their pins in that dolly?
I need shelter, safety, shelter, protection, secure me, a special charm to keep me from harm.
A bloody knife from your secret mind, it turns and twists, it turns and grinds. Just like the full moon in front of me, I'm pouring out my heart to the bitter sea. I'm in shock, an electrician's son, I asked for some piece and you gave me a crumb. I'm still in fear of your voodoo smile, I'm still in fear, cold voodoo smile,
I need shelter, safety, shelter, protection, secure me, a special charm to keep me from harm.
Shakes me, blasts of thunder shake me, shakes me, blasts of thunder shake me. I see demons, DEMONS, demons there and more, I see demons there and more, It's takes more and more it takes - It takes all I have and more...
I need shelter, safety, shelter, protection, secure me, a special charm to keep me from harm.
Please
I need
safety
I need
Safety
I need

There are days that I've spent a little lost, lonely and bored
But these hours wear heavy on me for the loses I can't afford
I've lost all love, all faith, I've even lost all my pride
But I still got a belly full of laughs, my spirit is still alive
The night you told me to forget I ran right through the thorns
I stood, I listened to a violin, dreamed of your ghostly form
I had some time for some messed up thoughts, I thought I lost myself
With all the fire I've walked through, I think I still need some help
What is lost can still be found
What is gone I still can see
The days are not all setting suns
And with this lost I become free
There no trapped hero, no, I'm still not caught yet
I'm not like a dauphin whose caught accidentally in a tuna net
I'm not like a snake whose sliding into a dead-end hole
It's not time, I can't believe I got nowhere else to go
What is lost can still be found
What is gone I still can see
The days are not all setting suns
And with this lost I become free
All these mistakes building
one over another the foundation is no good
I can't believe it
Took you for granted and now it's built up
It just rot, rot, rot
It's all the same
Piled up rot, rot, rot
Rot

I've never been here before. I think I've opened up another door. Well it seems I'm sitting for a hundred years, I don't think I can take it anymore.
Then comes a change, a sudden change. Feel I'm on the winds of a hurricane. Then comes a phase, I feel I've aged. I'm old, blind naked, walking with a cane.
I feel weak, I can't even speak. Don't think I can climb down from this peak. Up on a pole, my swinging soul. Feel I'm sinking down deep into a garbage hole.
