Here, collected for the first time are HED's 1989 and 1990 studio sessions, recorded by Kramer himself at his legendary "Noise, NY" studio, home of many Shimmy-Disc artists such as Galaxy 500, Bongwater and King Missile.
The first 4 songs were self released on the "Zonk, Screech, Yowl, Vavoom, Crunch" 7" by Exploding Cow Records. Rockville Records released "Your Voodoo Smile" from the second session as "The Voodoo Chilli", which was HED's third single.
John Peel twice (as far as can be documented), described HED as "a band to watch out for" and "Sonic Youth's heir apparent". Considered one of the first "Alternative" bands in the greater NY area, HED played widely in the Northeast from 1988-1992, including opening for Nirvana on their Nevermind tour in New Haven CT (thanks Fernando!).
Note: this is the "PsychoPunkadelic" band HED, from Danbury CT. A scene so fertile in the early 90's that, in a quote from Rolling Stone Magazine, Thurston Moore referred to it as "The next Seattle" . Although Danbury never reached that notoriety, it has been a breading ground of original music, spawning such great acts as HED, Monsterland, Gnu Fuz and many more.
